I'm trying to use by waiting time usefully by learning how to use Tinkercad with it's lessons. Marko's Ring didn't come out quite as expected but Henna's knit and yarns came out perfect. Memento is at least loading really well, let's hope the outcome is as pleasing. I might try Autodesk Memento next, but probably I'll just leave that till tomorrow.Ĭhanged computer to one that has Memento already installed, I tried the 123D Catch once more this morning with the same results as yesterday. Aaaaand six minutes later I get an unknown error again and I'd have to start the whole thing over. NOTE TO SELF: When you manually set reference points and press submit, it calculates everything again adding those points to the calculation. I'm going to ask weather it is enough or if it can me modified, if not i'll have to take a whole lot of pictures again. Trying again with my husbands email, fingers crossed everybody!Īnd finally after several errors and issues and problems and coffee cups i finally have a capture, that doesn't really look that good. Apparently Gmail is having some issues and that's why my capture was unfinished. The machines are fighting against us and the internet gods are not on our favor, but we'll keep trying. Marko's computer froze at this point and Henna's computer didn't work at all today. application like Autodesks 123D Catch which uses a tablets built-in camera and photogrammetry or a desktop application like Autodesk Memento which can. I really hope it didn't get stuck on that 86% it's on right now.
I managed to download the pictures to the 123D Catch program and now it has been creating a capture for around forty minutes or so.
Got the pictures from Dropbox to the computer, wrote a lot of stuff here that vanished after pressing the save button, then the internet said "lol no" again. Now I have to download them to the computer and then to the 123D Catch program. UPDATE: At 12.03 I have finally managed to download all the pictures to Dropbox. The WiFi has some issues today so it's painfully slow, but we'll get there. I ended up with 28 pictures that I'm now trying to download to Dropbox. I then rigged my"art piece" to the table with a clamp, tuned the lighting and started to take shots.
And at the higher end, Memento which lets you use more source photos and export in more file formats is free to use, at least until Autodesk decides how it will commercialise the service. I solved the white issue by coloring the vital edges black with a permanent marker so camera would have more reference points. However, this is a tough market to get into: at the low end, Autodesk’s 123D Catch is free, and can be used commercially if you share the models you create on the user gallery. Which colored paper I used then you ask? White. The problem in scanning with pictures is, that white objects don't scan well. But google helped and i managed to get a crane made. I used to do a lot of origami but now I found myself looking for instruction on how to make a crane. So first things first, making the origami.
